Wasim Jaffer hilariously trolled the England cricket team in his trademark style

Wasim Jaffer trolled the England cricket team: India added a crucial 78 points on day two of the Edgbaston Test against England, continuing their overnight tally of 338/7.

Ravindra Jadeja, who slept at 83*, landed his third Test century, and quite possibly his best, before a late onslaught from Jasprit Bumrah (31* on 16 balls), which included Stuart Broad conceding a record world 35 runs, as India passed the 400-point milestone and finished with 416 on a pitch that helps setters with the new ball when the Dukes are tough.

India were 98/5 at one point on Day 1 with James Anderson and Matthew Potts bowling commendably. Before Rishabh Pant turned the tide, and in spectacular fashion when the southpaw ripped through the hosts’ bowlers, in particular spinner Jack Leach, and recorded his fifth Test ton, second in England. Pant was fired late on Day 1 after shifting the momentum to the visitors with his blitzkrieg hit of 146 runs on 111 balls, winning 20 fours and 4 sixes.

Pant and Jadeja shared an entertaining partnership of 222 runs on 239 balls. It was then Jadeja who, along with Mohammed Shami, helped India over 370 before dropping as the ninth wicket after racking up 104 runs. India were 375/9 on Jadeja’s dismissal and England would have been hoping to restrict India for no more than a few runs.

But poor shortball tactics from Stuart Broad and a batting daredevil from India skipper Jasprit Bumrah saw England’s hopes dashed within six ball space. Broad’s top in Bumrah read: 4, 5Wd, 7Nb, 4, 4, 4, 6, 1.

As Broad hit the record for most expensive in Test cricket – adding to its most expensive in T20I – India passed 400 to end up with 416.

Wasim Jaffer trolls English bowling

From 98/5 it took a mammoth and memorable effort from the Indians to cross 400, an effort England would not have thought of at the time.

Former India fly-half Wasim Jaffer, in his own style, hilariously trolled the hosts using a famous meme photo of drunk and high Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen!
